Has this ever happened to anyone? I paused my recording, deleted a few seconds of a mistake, and continued recording from the point I paused. So far so good. The recording sounds fine during playback. However, when I do some noisecleaning, the recording automatically moves the point from which I stopped to the beginning of the track. So that now I have a nice, noise cleaned track that plays both segments from the beginning, at the same time! How do I fix this?

In Audicity, it does not let you 'pause' (blue double bar button) and fix things, then continue recording. When you press stop (yellow square button) and then start recording again (red dot button), it starts a new track unless you put your cursor at the end of the first track and hold down the shift key as you press 'record'.
I think you put your cursor at the end of the track and forgot to hold down the shift key when you started recording again. When that happens, Audacity starts a new track below the first one, from where you left off. If you play it back, it plays the first track, then jumps down to the second track, so it sounds fine when you listen to it. But when you noise clean, it lines up all the tracks - and then you hear them all on top of each other.
You can highlight the second track, and cut and paste it to the end of the first track.
