Stumbled upon this site and thought it would be a great idea to record my own voice. i am a lawyer (barrister) and naturally spend a long time excercising my voice . so this would be a good opportunity to hone on my vocal skills as well as give something to the world at large . apart from being a lawyer i spend most of my time reading and i am mainly into fantasy , fiction , as well as dystopian classics . i look foward recording and also getting aquinted with the librivox community !  |

You should have started your own post for this but that is of no mind.
The best place to start is at the Wiki page here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Main_Page
There is a ton of information there and make sure you read the Volunteering section; most of your questions can be answered there. But if they are not, do not hesitate to ask, everyone here is always friendly and helpful.

What a great way to find out about us, Lauren -- I'm glad you enjoyed it, and am looking forward to hearing you around the place. 
Hopefully the Newbies Guide in the wiki will answer your initial questions, but if not, please do just ask more -- there's so much information in there it can be a bit overwhelming!
If you'd like your post above split into a new topic, just let me know ... it's not uncommon for people to reply to an existing topic, rather than beginning their own, but you'll have even more people welcoming you in your own topic. And it's fun to look back on, years later. (Well, that might just be my opinion, actually.)
