Re: [GRP/SELF-HELP] Thrift, by Samuel Smiles - tg

Section 12:

16:51, 19:06, 19:09 - "20 s" - FYI, this is "shillings". ("L" is pounds, "S" is shillings, "D" is pence.)

27:10-27:32 - this section gets really muffled and hard to understand.

77 PL OK. I'm not going to worry about "Lord N" versus "Lord N's". :)

Yes, each country has its own copyright laws. Canada's is 50 full years after the death of the author.

"Estate" in this case means Agatha Christie's heirs and inheritors.

Yes, the LV founder is still alive and living in Montreal.

Re: Suggestion:Books By Agatha Christie [NOT DOABLE FOR LIBRIVOX STILL]

Agatha Christie's estate is very protective and will not hesitate to take a technicality and run with it to court. Since the founder of LibriVox is Canadian, they will use that to their advantage (since Christie's works aren't PD in Canada yet.) That's how it affects this matter. :)

Re: [GRP/NATURE] Our National Parks, by John Muir - tg

May I please have section 11? Welcome! I'll put you in for section 11, but please do the 1-minute test first, to be sure your technical settings are all OK before recording "for real". :) How would you like to be credited in the catalog? I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say...

Re: [FAMILY NOVEL] The Caxtons, by Edward Bulwer-Lytton - tg

Hello, here's Track 77 (15:46): https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/caxtons_77_bulwer-lytton_128kb.mp3 I'm not too sure I understand what I was supposed to say around ~8:57. Is it lord N? Or is it something else? "took him to Lord N—s." Yes, it's some obscured name starting with an N. So I'd read ...

Re: Weekly/Fortnightly Poetry Suggestions

I'm fairly slack on the poem itself. I don't do word-perfect, and certainly don't worry about interpretation. Pronunciations aren't supposed to be PL'd anyway.

Thanks, both! PL to come tomorrow.

Footnotes are somewhat at the reader's discretion. The ones that are interesting, they can stay in. The ones that are just references to other books or otherwise not interesting to the listener, they shouldn't be read. :)

I've added you in. How do you want to appear in the catalog and other public-facing places? We can use "laluchadora" or something else, if you prefer. It's what you'd say when you say, "recording by ---". :)
