BB, This one sounds great. The easiest way I've found to monitor volume is through the replaygain plug in in Audacity. I use it to check the volume, but then use Effect | Amplify to adjust (so make sure I'm not clipping, and because I want to know just what adjustment is needed each time to get me t...

Jws,

Your test checks all the boxes. Tech specs OK, no noticeable background noise, volume at 90.2 dB (we target 89dB with 97-91 being acceptable)

I'll mark your thread OK. Look forward to hearing you around LV!

Re: 1 minute test adazaejohnson Pinkroom2

Adazae, Welcome to Librivox! Great smooth voice, you're very easy to listen to. Couple of things for you to address on your recording. Your bit rate is variable. We require 128 kbps fixed. This is set during export to the MP3. If you are using Audacity, instructions on how to make this change are he...

Re: 1-minute test

BB, Welcome to LV! You have a lovely voice to listen to. The only issue on your recording is background noise. This can easily be cleaned with Audacity. Instructions are here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Noise_Cleaning Otherwise, tech specs are good, volume is good at 87.8 dB (we targe...

Re: 1-Minute Test

Kez, Welcome to Librivox! Lovely reading style! I'm partial to your accent so I hope to hear you around a lot. Your tech specs are all fine, no noticeable background noise. Your recording came in at 86.1 dB. That's just a bit low on volume. We target 89 dB, with 87-91 being OK. Lot of people use a p...

Kaity, There are instructions on noise cleaning here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Noise_Cleaning I use settings of 6, 6, 6. Also, please watch your volume. This recording came in at 86.1 dB. We target 89 dB, but 87-91 is an acceptable range. You can use a replaygain plug in for Audacit...

Re: one minute test - Farnax

Farnax, Let me also welcome you to LibriVox. Your volume is good and no noticeable background noise. So the only issue is the bit rate, as Roma said. There are instructions to fix this here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Audacity_1-2-3 (see #5) Please make a new recording and call it tes...

I agree, your test checks all the boxes. Tech specs ok. Good volume (you're at 88.2, we target 89 with 87-91 being ok), no noticeable background noise.

The Blue Snowball is a nice mic! Very dependable.

I'll mark your thread OK and look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Re: New 1-Minute Test

Allegra,

Your volume is now on the low end at 86.7. Watch that you don't go any lower.

Otherwise, this test is fine. I'll mark your thread OK and you can head off and record!

Glad to have you on the team.

Chapters 7 and 8 PL OK!

Differing from the KJV will upset some people.
LOL! Yes, but the alternate reading made for a very interesting devotion.

Will be a couple of weeks before I record the rest, I'm away from my mic.
