Re: OPEN [DR] Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm by Kate Douglas Wiggin-mas

Hi Twinkle! This project appears to have two PLs but there are 12 files ready for PL and nobody has listened to any of them... Do both of your PLs understand the division of duties? I hope they aren't both waiting for the final edited files to appear in the MW! ;) The one disadvantage of doing multi...

Hi MakrygiannisS! Welcome to Librivox... and thanks for volunteering! I'd be happy to have you onboard. :-) Before I can officially sign you up, you will need to complete and have approved a one-minute test (there's a separate thread for it). This is not an audition; it's just to make sure your tech...

Re: ~[Children] Silver Princess in Oz, Thompson-ag

Hi Nan! Glad to see you made the leap across from my other Oz book!

I've claimed Chapter 1 myself already, but you can have 2, 3 and 4 for the same number of words, if that suits?

Re: FULL [PLAY] The Mikado by W.S.Gilbert- annise

Thanks folks! I'll prioritize PLing that file then - but Act 2 is much easier you'll be glad to know! In the usual Gilbert and Sullivan style, Act 2 is mostly the principals sorting out their problems, then the chorus appears for the big finale and that's it!

Thanks Nedge, all those files are on the MW!

Thanks Lomond - glad to hear you are still on it! There's no particular rush, and that's a lot of files to get through!

Re: EDITING [DR] An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott - tg

Hi Devorah - did you save the original version? I have to say, I don't love the up tempo effect. Some characters are more affected than others, but overall I don't find this version as nice to listen to as other chapters. The removal of the spaces between speeches makes it sound breathlessly rushed ...

Chapter 8 is PL amazingly well done! :9:

That can't have been easy with so many voices and crowd lines, but the effect is fabulous!

The Way of Holiness by Samuel Logan Brengle (1860 - 1936) . Samuel Logan Brengle was a commissioner in the Salvation Army. His books are known for the practicality, joyfulness and authenticity. His life was spent working with people on the streets, so his insights into the work of the Holy Spirit a...

That's the line - please read as is!

It's hilarious when the whole chorus sings this together! If you haven't seen The Mikado, there's a great version on YouTube with Eric Idle (from Monty Python) in it!

Re: FULL [PLAY] The Mikado by W.S.Gilbert- annise

I'm sure you are right - I was in a bit of a rush when I made the template, and as I'm sure you've noticed the formatting is horrible! I just quickly put up the template more as an indication of timing, because we had some problems in the editing of "Iolanthe" because the male chorus in particular h...

If you want to record, I can PL your sections for you - I just can't commit to DPLing the whole book, as I'm about to launch another Brengle book (also religious) and I'd find it too confusing!

Chapter 6 is PL OK!

This is my favourite part, hearing all the voices coming together!
