Re: [SOLO] Miss Bracegirdle and Others-ag

Checking in. Sorry that family is having to take priority at the moment, but I haven't forgotten this and I'll be continuing with it just as soon as I can.

Ah, one of those wonderful Victorian plays where dying characters say really natural things like "the little lamp of life is dying out".

I can narrate if you like.

Re: Zoom?

I'm pretty flexible (just not 3am flexible :) ). Any time between 7am and 10pm in London would be quite OK.

Re: * Recording for LibriVox, but also recording for YouTube screen shares....

Hmm, as Phil says this is not an Audacity setting. Perhaps it's an option when setting up the Logitech headphones, that you could switch off? Or can you give more details of exactly where (in which Windows program) you are being required to link to YouTube? Did you download a clean version of Audaci...

Re: Zoom?

Hi all

Having missed the earlier meetings, I thought I should be able to get to this, but unfortunately the time does not work well for Europe. If I've calculated correctly, that's 3 am in the UK.

Would love to join another time.

Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Weaker Sex by Pinero - thw

The last file is for act 3? - It will have overwritten the act 2 file in the uploader so if your can rename the second 2 to 3 (if that is correct) and then upload them both again that would be very helpful. Sorry, just a typo in the last line of that post. The files are OK, but the links should rea...

I have some stage directions for you. You'll be pleased to hear that this time Pinero doesn't have me interrupting the speeches quite as much as he usually does. :) https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/weakersex_narrator_1_128kb.mp3 @ 14.56 https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/weakersex_narrator_2_128...

Just to let you know I'm still here! I've read another four sections, but haven't got round to editing them yet.

Re: Checker's reporting low volume [SOLVED]

I've been editing a Sherlock Holmes DR; I did notice when I was merging in the readers' recordings, that the volume of the main recording sounded a bit low. When I exported the final mp3 file, it looked fine on the Audacity sonogram, and Audacity said that it could take about 3dB amplification at t...

On the other hand Gillingham in Kent has a soft G. But I only say it in the voice credit anyway, so I could do it twice and make Todd's life more difficult 😺
Seems that as a surname it's usually said with a hard G: https://one-name.org/name_profile/gillingham/

Re: OPEN[PLAY]The Weaker Sex by Pinero - thw

It seems from this page https://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Vivash that Vivash is a Wiltshire name, pronounced Vye-vash. Also Gillingham with a hard G.
