Re: Microphone Comparison (Shootout)

This is a sequence of six microphones that I had on hand. Though I attempted to be consistent in my speech and distance from the microphone, and used the same gain knob position, some samples will be louder or quieter than the others. I recorded directly into Adobe Audition, and used no plug-ins or...

Re: advice on setting up for recording

Hi everyone. Now that I have recorded my first audio file, there is another question I need to ask. The piece I recorded was approximately 19 A4 pages on msword. What I find very complicated is keeping audacity open on one side and then keeping the narrative piece open at the same time and working ...

Microphone Comparison (Shootout): NT1-A; Encore 200; Encore 300; AT2021; King Bee; Ember

This is a sequence of six microphones that I had on hand. Though I attempted to be consistent in my speech and distance from the microphone, and used the same gain knob position, some samples will be louder or quieter than the others due to differences in the microphones themselves. I recorded direc...

Re: LIBRIVOX NARRATOR WORKSHOP 2! [ZOOM, FEB 28]

Thanks for hosting this. I’d really like to see a nightly session for unstructured peer-to-peer mentoring and maybe one weekly session hosted by a professional voice actor for more focused coaching.

Re: Hello from.....well anywhere in the lower 48 states at any given time

Thats awesome, and I have a place I record here at the house as well, same equipment, but totally pieced together sound proofing. I know the quality isnt as good as what I can produce in the truck and use it primarily to keep up the habit of recording something daily and an occasional VO promotion ...

Re: What commercial audiobook are you listening to?

I discovered my wife's Word of Promise New King James Version CD set, which is a dramatic reading of the Bible. So, naturally, I dusted off my old optical drive, temporarily installed it on my workstation, and spent the day ripping the CDs into WAV files for study. The set also comes with a DVD show...

@Jordan
Just my default voice recorder on my cellphone.
You need to open it in a digital audio editor such as Audacity and then export it from there as MP3.

I can't turn my file type to mp3 and it can't be admitted with another type. What should I do?
What audio editor are you using?

Add Wiki link to top of main page

The main website (https://librivox.org/) has links to: About, Contact, Forum, Help.

I propose adding "Wiki" (https://wiki.librivox.org/) after the Forum link to make the wiki easier to find.

Re: Are audiobooks borrowable?

Yes, to borrow commercial audiobooks, you need the Libby app and a local library card.

Re: How long does a given script takes to read

Hi all, it's a good length of time since I have read for LibriVox, so my question may have been asked before: Is there a method to ascertain roughly how long a given script takes to read. i.e. number of words to amount of time to read them? Many thanks in anticipation of a reply, Andy I read recent...

Re: One Minute Test

Hi! I would really appreciate some feedback as I'm really keen to get started but pretty clueless when it comes to audio! I've uploaded the same test raw and with some tinkering to get it to the librivox specifications (as far as I can tell!) https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_theoholtbailey.m...
