I use and recommend Studio One. I use the paid version (which I think at about $70 is good value for the money) but there is a free version called Prime. Don Baarns of Red Baarns Audio has a lot of free videos to help you learn to use it.

Definitely one step at a time on the tech stuff. You can do it! The videos and the wiki are very helpful.

I read at about 140 words per minute. It takes me about 5-6 hours of work to get one finished your of audio. Hope this helps.
