Re: [Weekly] I Saw in Louisiana a Live-Oak Growing, W.Whitma
What else could be intended in line 3? I'm just looking through parsing it to do my reading and I'm inclined to think it's correct without the "leaves" - "joyous" is an adjective qualifying the noun "uttering". So it reads: Without any companion it (the tree) grew there (, an) uttering (that was) j...

It's pretty minor and, I thought, helpful - he included an extra part number as the Chapter was subdivided into sections, viz: "Chapter n Part n of..." rather than the "Chapter n of..." suggested in the first post.TriciaG wrote:What did Jordan do in section 4?

Sorry that you've had to wait for this - I've committed what I suspect is the standard newbie error of not realising how much time the editing takes and thus overcommitting. http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/tg/miraclesofourlord_06_macdonald.mp3 26m55s 26.4Mb I've deviated everso slightly fro...

Re: [MULTILINGUAL] LibriVox 8th Anniversary Collection - rg
Paul: I will give it a listen. It was a brave choice ;). As you say, there is plenty of time yet. Thanks Ruth; at the moment I think I'm more likely to redo it than not so don't feel that it's a great priority just yet. That said, I'm still very much the newbie so would be grateful for any comments...

Re: [MULTILINGUAL] LibriVox 8th Anniversary Collection - rg
Perhaps I should have actually tried reading some Tudor English before volunteering to do this passage! I'm not wholly happy with the rendition but I'm guessing a mediocre version is better than not submitting anything. http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/8thanniversary_lovelettersofhenryvii...

I'm really sorry about this - having listened to my edit in a different room I now realise that the loud tick I was hearing was coming from the recording rather than what 'd previously thought - the clock permeating the headphones. I'll re-record it. Here's the second attempt without the background...

Re: [WEEKLY POETRY] Because I Could Not Stop For Death
Dat is very int'restin'. Thanks. :) It's useful too as it can give you some insight to the author's original intentions (though, of course, your reading is your own interpretation and not hers). This is most obvious when the meter seems to divert from the standard; I can see three possible reasons ...
