Re: Metalic sound in Greenmantle by John Buchan (solo)

Listen to it with not so good earphones or in driving car with noise around you? There is another Version of Greenmantle available, maybe you could exchange the metallic chapters in your player: https://librivox.org/greenmantle-by-john-buchan/ I'm quite shocked. I don't think there are worse...

Metalic sound in Greenmantle by John Buchan (solo)

Hi, I downloaded the zip file (64kbps mp3) of Greenmantle (Version 2) by John Buchan (reading by Tom Weiss, https://librivox.org/greenmantle-version-2-by-john-buchan/). After extracting the files, at least chapters 1-4 have a kind of a metalic sound/overtone. I tried listening to the chapter 1 direc...

Re: A question re "low-demand"/scarce languages

But, in that case, you still could ask at legamus.eu, as this organization is operated in an live+70 country. Wow, thank you, Monica! I was unaware of this website. It seems that they might know the answer because Israel inherited its laws from the British Mandate, so the Israeli law should be simi...

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org

Ava adds a 'Staff Pick' post to the home page at the beginning of every month, with 10 selections she chooses from our suggestions. Look on the right hand side. This month's was called "Feed Me". Oh, oops. I usually browse on my smartphone, and the title of the section is " news" so it didn't occur...

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org

How about putting the archive.org link on the homepage of LV? If you're not looking for a particular book, the recommendations, and even the "most popular downloads" could be very handy and open our minds to new things that maybe we've never even heard of...

Re: A question re "low-demand"/scarce languages

 Being a law stydent myself, I checked the Israel Copyright Law and with the help of a REAL lawyer who specializes in copyright, came up with the following answer: There is copyright as long as the "producer/artist" lives + 70 years. Since I'm interested in old translations to Hebrew, what I've...

A question re "low-demand"/scarce languages

Hi, For languages with few recordings on LV (and unfortunately, probably few listeners :( ) are there Language Coordinators? Or maybe a "super-volunteer" (like a "super-user" in tech forums ha ha) who knows what books are on the "waiting for reading" shelf, knows about copyright law etc.? Specifical...

A general "thank you" and my first personal one's

Dear People of Librivox, First, a plain “thank you” is just not enough to express my gratitude in words. I’ve been mostly bedridden for over a year with severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It is probably less known that CFS very often comes with some kind of sensory overstimulation. Since I got sick, a...

The book narrates the Exodus of the children of Israel out of Egypt: Moses leads them through t...
