Re: Voice Reader (software)

I took a closer look at the article in the wiki and I can see that it needs updating. A few other languages have been added to the Voice-Reader since the moment the article was last edited. Namely:Arabian, Cantonese, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, (B...

Re: Librivox on the net...

Yesterday I tried to break a new ground by advertising LV on a Polish forum of which I'm a user.
I'm not sure if it's going to be met with any kind of reaction, though, because I also mentioned that so far there are very few audiobooks in Polish available here.

Re: Voice Reader (software)

I have double checked to make sure it is in our Wiki on the Foreign Words pronunciation page and it is: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Foreign_Words_Pronunciation I definitely have to spend more time hanging around in the wiki. Every time I go there (or when I stumble upon a link to it) I disco...

Re: Self-Taught Language Books / Developing a Language Resou

Right now I still don't feel up to recording, as I'm still figuring out how to use Audacity, but once I've managed to learn this, I could help in projects involving learning materials for my native Polish.

Voice Reader (software)

A few weeks ago I was suggested an interesting piece of software called Voice Reader, the free demo version of which is available here http://www.linguatec.de/onlineservices/voice_reader/ It spells out texts in any of 21 languages listed in the menu, and gives a possibilty to adjust speed, loudness,...

Re: LibriVox monthly statistics

That's an enormous figure :D Congratulations to you guys (I only registered yesterday, so I can't legitimately write "to us"). There's one thing that mystifies me, though. When I go to the LibriVox catalog on the main page and select "advance search" and then select "English" it gives me the figure ...

Re: [POLISH][Group]Tajemnica Baskerville'ów by Doyle-arb

I've just PL-ed the 2nd chapter. Everything's OK.
Also, no information about the level of PLing was specified in the first post. I just assumed it was the basic one.

Re: ~[POLISH][Group]Tajemnica Baskerville'ów by Doyle-arb

Do I understand well that this project needs a DPL? I'm a native speaker of Polish, so I could help.
Note: I'm new here. I hope I left the message in the right thread. If not, please excuse me.

Polish user here

Hi. Some time ago I heard about librivox for the first time and a few weeks ago I downloaded my first audiobook from your catalog. I think that the effort, that you're making is something remarkable and I would like to do something to contribute. As a native speaker of Polish I was naturally tempted...
