Re: [MULTILINGUAL] LibriVox 8th Anniversary Collection - rg

Perhaps I should have actually tried reading some Tudor English before volunteering to do this passage! I'm not wholly happy with the rendition but I'm guessing a mediocre version is better than not submitting anything. http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/8thanniversary_lovelettersofhenryvii...

Re: Coffee Break Collection Vol. 008 - Animals - tg

I'm really sorry about this - having listened to my edit in a different room I now realise that the loud tick I was hearing was coming from the recording rather than what 'd previously thought - the clock permeating the headphones. I'll re-record it. Here's the second attempt without the background...

Re: [WEEKLY POETRY] Because I Could Not Stop For Death

Dat is very int'restin'. Thanks. :) It's useful too as it can give you some insight to the author's original intentions (though, of course, your reading is your own interpretation and not hers). This is most obvious when the meter seems to divert from the standard; I can see three possible reasons ...

Re: [WEEKLY POETRY] Because I Could Not Stop For Death

(on a slight tangent) I assume we cannot sing this to the tune of Gilligan's Island, since it's not PD. The meter of the poem is what hymn-writers call Common Meter, so there are any number of PD tunes you could use instead - "Amazing Grace", "There is a green hill", "House of the rising sun" ...

Re: Coffee Break Collection Vol. 008 - Animals - tg

Hi...I've just uploaded "The Cowardly Lion and the Hungry Tiger" from L. Frank Baum's "Little Wizard Stories of Oz" which I found on Project Gutenberg here: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/25519/25519-h/25519-h.htm File: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/tg/coffeebreak008_cowardlylionhungrytig...

Re: [Group] The Miracles of Our Lord by George MacDonald - t

Thanks both. I'm still a newbie and trying to get a feel for how long it takes me to get files done but I'd certainly like to end up doing more. Also being new, I'm still sometimes finding myself a little puzzled at how things work. You said that the original reader hasn't been back, but the date on...

Re: [Group] The Miracles of Our Lord by George MacDonald - t

May I go for sections 6 and 7 then please? I was going to suggest the next available one but there seems sense in not splitting chapters between readers if you don't have to.

Thank you!
