Thank you! I know how to press a button! (Now... Which button?)
 yes, that's the question to ask, i think 8-)

but we can complicate it, to make it more easy: on linux, download imagemagick and in a terminal enter:

Code: Select all

convert picturenames_*.jpg outputpdfname.pdf
...and imagemagick processed all pictures (called picturenames_001, picturenames_002,...) into a single pdf file.
the results were sometimes huge in size, you had to wait for several minutes or tweak parameters until...
that was some years ago - it stopped working (because of softwareupdates, i think).
well..

I speak German better than Linux. In German, at least, I can order a beer!

Thank you for uploading the scans, but they state a copyright of 1946.

For books to be automatically in the public domain in the US (and thus eligible to be read for LV), they must have been published in 1923 or earlier. Meaning: this doesn't look good.

Also, wikipedia says
John Edward Jennings (1906–1973) was an American historical novelist, author of many best-selling novels of American history and seagoing adventure. He also wrote several nonfiction books on history.
which makes it even more unlikely that this book is public domain anywhere.

Sorry 'bout that, but this is a no-go.
Cheers,
Ava.

Please don't be discouraged. There are a lot of similar offerings that are in the public domain which I'm sure you would enjoy reading.

I looked up the title - the copyright was renewed in 1973. So as Ava said, definitely a no-go.

As for uploading scans of a full book, see http://raj.blog.archive.org/2011/02/24/new-upload-format-_images-zip-for-scribe-style-uploads/; in short, if you can just put the scans in a zip file, the Internet Archive can produce a PDF from it.

Thank you. Over my heard, but I'm sure it's helpful!
