Pride and prejudice by Jane Austen (1775 - 1817).

The novel follows the character development of Elizabeth Bennet, the dynamic protagonist of the book who learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and comes to appreciate the difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness. Its humour lies in its honest depiction of manners, education, marriage, and money during the Regency era in Great Britain. It is one of the first romantic comedies in the history of the novels. • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1342
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

After recording a short horror story, I'm really excited to start recording this book. 'Pride and Prejudice' has been really special for me and I am so glad to finally be able to do this. :D

Does this project need a DPL? I would be very happy to do it as I love Pride and Prejudice.

Congratulations on starting your first solo, Vrinda!

We have the Magic Window in place in the first post. As you will be your own book coordinator for your project, you will need to keep the Magic Window updated; it really helps with all the procedures!
Here's all the information you need on how to update the Magic Window https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Soloists:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window
Please ask if something is unclear.

In order to access the Magic Window, you'll need to create a login for the Workflow. This is different from your forum login. Follow the steps in "Accessing the System – First Time Login" to create your workflow login.

When you are ready, please fill in the Section titles; this will also help you to get used to the Magic Window as your first contact with it :)
I have filled in the first couple of sections as an example.

And when you are ready with recordings, upload them in my folder, put the links and run times in the Magic Window, then post in the thread, so that we are notified of your activity!

Have fun!

Let me know when you've seen these posts, and I'll move us to Going Solo ;)

Fantastic! I have moved us to Going Solo now, so you can work on your project in your own personal pace. But please notice in the first post "IMPORTANT - soloist, please note", and even if you don't have recordings ready, please post that you are still working on the project.

At some point we will also need a summary for the book, in your own words, instead of taken from wikipedia. It can be at the end if you'd prefer after you've read the book, or it can be now or whenever you feel inspired to write your own summary :D

That's it! Ask anything, any time, if you need any help. And have lots of fun

Thankyou! I have filled in the section titles in the magic window and I hope I have done it right! :P I will surely work on the summary and submit it when I'm halfway through the book, and yes, I will keep posting.
