John Dunmore Lang wrote "an historical and statistical account of new south Wales, both paranormal settlement and as a british colony". It ran to 4 additions. " The Westminster Review suggested it's title should read 'Re history of Dr. Lang, to which is added the history of new south wales'. However, it was among the most widely read and fully informed accounts of Australia". Quoted from the Australian Dictionary of Biography, volume 2, 1967.
