Section 46. Gill, there are three very minor changes that you might make if you wish. Two to correct slight changes in meaning, one slightly over-long pause.
Peter
0050 It is true that they may entertain exaggerated notions of their natural rank... Missed out "may"
0253 ... if they do possess any, they rather lead towards the maintenance of ... I hear "lean" rather than "lead"
2407 In connection with the office there is a long hall. Longish pause of over 2 1/2 seconds before it.

Thanks, Peter.
You're so quick off the mark!

Section 46 PL okay.
You've been giving me very little work to do.
When I was a student, it was generally thought that people went from being idealistic socialists when they were young (remember the reputation of the London School of Economics?) to capitalistic conservatives as they grew older. I don't know whether it's my particular background or group of friends, but it seems the other way round for us. And the more I read/hear of London Labour, the more sympathy I have with the working poor who are being exploited by the rich.

Section 47 PL okay.
Section 48 PL okay for the text, but you might have a listen to three small areas, and see if you want to rerecord.
0407-0414 Odd, scraping background noise, marked by square brackets. "... by this way pay the butcher sixpence [a week extra. The additional cost to me of the other articles,] cheese, butter, soap...."
0531-0532 As above. "I was never able to redeem it, [and lost it.]"
0547 As above. "... making 5000 l. [in a-year.]" (To make it easier to find, the following sentence is: "Interest may be paid on one half this amount,...")

Section 49 (45:04)

Coal Heavers Part 4 (pages 246 "After the meeting ..." to p252 " 'pot of porter'.")
There's quite a lot of repetition in these sections, because of Mayhew's original format, I suppose.
