No problem, Esther. And I understand that completely; I have gotten to where I look at a section to see how many names I would have to manslaughter before I offer to read it.

Hi! Could I please read chapter 11? I am a psychology major in college and i believe that this will be a great start for my first recording.

Since this is my first recording I guess I need to tell you that I would like to have my name 'John Burnett' used in the Librivox Catalogue.

Hi John,

I will put you in for that section. Please go to this link, http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording, where you will get a lot of information how to set up to record and how to turn in a sample recording. We recommend doing the sample recording so we can spot any technical problems before you end up spending a lot of time doing a regular recording only to find you may have to do it all over again because something was out of whack. Have fun and let us know if you have any questions.

Mactoplac,

Thanks for the sections. :D I would, however, like to mention that in a group book reading, it is best to ask for the sections BEFORE recording them. Otherwise you might find while you were recording it, someone else came in and requested it and they would get it, thus rendering all your recording work wasted. :(

Will finish my section in a day or two.

BTW, Barry, did you think the section I recorded was read too fast? I think I tend to read quickly, which might not be idea for non-fic works.
Put yourself in the Readers' Accents Table. See this post.
