I'd like to volunteer for Section 5
Kevin
At the last moment, I decided not to read this section in my "talk like a pirate" voice.

Section 5 was previously claimed. Can I interest you in section 4?

Thanks very much! I have linked it from the MW and it should be PL'd sometime soon. Thanks, again, Greg.

Hi Greg! Lovely reading - some of your inflections in this humorous piece crack me up.

Here are my PL notes for section 3

1) Checker says the volume is at 85.8 dB. The recording is very clean-sounding, so we might not want to risk jeopardizing that by raising the volume to 89 dB, so let's try for 87 dB instead?

2) At 3:01, the text says "up to your means" but you read "up to your own means." It should be an easy cut-out. If it turns out to be problematic or weird-sounding to remove, we can leave it in and still be PL-OK. It doesn't affect the meaning of the sentence.

Looking forward to spot-checking this later!

Thanks, Chessie Joy. I had fun with this recording and I am glad it came across that way!

I will do what I can to clean it up tonight and resubmit.

If I am approved for Section 4 (I submitted a request last night) I will use the same style since you enjoyed it.

Take care,

Greg

Oops, I meant 4, but I see it has been requested by someone else now. No problemo.

I did not realize that kwdavids had a previous claim in the thread for Section 4 (it was not reflected in the MW). I will relinquish my claim if kwdavids would still like to record Section 4.

Take care,

Greg

Kevin,

Are you sure it was not a double-headed coin? Thanks for your graciousness, my friend! I shall remember this in the event this awkward situation ever arises again and then it will be "tag you are it!"

Take care,

Greg

Thanks for working this out Greg and Kevin!

I am more than willing to relinquish my claim on section 1 if I can interest you in that, Kevin. The only reason I claimed it is so that I could read the long title as listed on the title page of the book in this section:

THE COLLEGE FRESHMAN'S
DON'T BOOK
IN THE INTERESTS OF FRESHMEN AT LARGE
ESPECIALLY THOSE WHOSE REMAINING
AT LARGE UNINSTRUCTED & UNGUIDED
APPEARS A WORRY AND A MENACE TO
COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY SOCIETY THESE
REMARKS AND HINTS ARE SET FORTH
BY G. F. E. (A. B.) A SYMPATHIZER

If you will include this when you read the book's title in the intro (the second time) I will be more than happy to give this section to you. I am hopeless at getting the humor of these sections across in my readings. I will assign it to you now and if you don't want to do, or if I don't hear back from you, I can reassign it. Thanks Kevin!
