The Marvelous Land of Oz by L. Frank Baum (1856 - 1919).

This book is complete and in our catalog at http://librivox.org/the-marvelous-land-of-oz-version-3-by-l-frank-baum/

he Marvelous Land of Oz: Being an Account of the Further Adventures of the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman, is the second of L. Frank Baum's books set in the Land of Oz, and the sequel to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The story starts with an orphan boy named Tip who is a slave to Old Mombi, a witch. Tip's attempt at a practical joke on Mombi, a pumpkinheaded man whom he calls Jack, backfires when Mombi brings the Pumpinkinhead to life. From there the adventures of Tip and Jack become more and more exciting and strange as they escape together on a sawhorse that also becomes very much alive. The Scarecrow, the Tin Man (Nick Chopper), a revolt by an army of girls who have decided that men have ruled Oz for long enough, and encounters with a Highly Magnified bug are just a few of the escapades our stalward people must deal with in this Marvelous Land of Oz.

    IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
    Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Chapter 12: something seems to have gone wrong with the upload. It seems to have gotten cut off somewhere around 2:40 :?

Yet even MORE of this exciting tale has been uploaded !! Yes, it is true, please control your joy. Our heroes and heroines get into 'another fine mess' but luckily escape and OZ has a new princess. (Warning: there is a sex change operation involved so don't be shocked) :roll:

Yay! Downloading.. can't wait to listen! :D

Chapter 12:

11:40 repeat
What he saw was a great, round, buglike body supported upon two slender legs which ended in delicate feet—the toes curling upward.

12:15 & 12:23 repeat
—not unlike the head of a man, except that its nose ended in a curling antenna, or "feeler,"and its ears from the upper points bore antennae that decorated the sides of its head like two miniature, curling pig tails.

12:50 repeat
a vest of white duck that stretched tightly across the wide body;

13:10 repeat
and, perched upon its small head, was jauntily set a tall silk hat.

Chapters 13-18 are great!
