I'm filling in to give David a bit of a break. And I must say it's been fun. I worried that I would get simply bored to death hearing the same poem time after time, but everyone---like yourself---adds such a unique quality to the reading that I could never grow tired of it.
The benefits, as I see them, are:
1. you give yourself and others a chance to recite a poem aloud (like, who just gets up and does that on their own).
2. you get to hear other interpretations, with nuances that you never thought of.
3. you get to add new titles to the LV catalog.
4. you give newbies a chance to record and edit something short and quick, that nevertheless gives them practice in all the LV procedures, and helps them meet other readers.
5. gives English teachers tools to use in their classrooms. I envision them making the kids listen then vote on their favorites, then make them all take a turn recording the poem for a class CD or something like that.
6. gives David a break.
7. gives me a chance to design more covers. :D :D :D
All good---no, great---points!

Oh, and one more -- a big one!
8. You get exposure to poems and poets you never heard of before!

Hi Kevin,
Here's mine:

1:33

Just checking, shouldn't the titles in the MW have " - read by ABC" in them as is usually the case with weekly/fortnightly poetry?
Foon - Real life is getting in the way of LV, will be slow until all is back on track, please bear with me!

Readers needed:
Dramatic Reading: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Folklore/legends: Arabian Nights Vol. 11
Play: Zeus the Tragedian

Does that show up in the catalog? I'll be happy to do it.

I'm new to Librivox, but I had to do this one even though I haven't quite passed the final 1-minute test, because I have loved Don Marquis all my life. (My first cat was named Mehitabel.)

Please list me wherever you list things as "M. E. Allen" as that is the name I want to read under, rather than Antsy27.
