Thanks, Colleen. I am surprised how few stories/essays I can find on my own hobbies, pottery and poetry. Still looking.

The modern version of this advice is: The best way to a man's heart is between the 4th and 5th ribs with a filet knife.

Hi, Nan. Can you provide me with a link to the text you read from? And the name of the story.

Here is the link to the Project Gutenberg file I read from:

https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/39944

And the story is called "Mrs. Washington's Eternal Knitting."

Thanks Nan, Mrs Washington's Knitting is PL OK, presuming it's okay that you named your file "littlethings". Let's hear from our MC on that.

The Choice of a Boat is PL OK. It mentions E. F. Knight and how he outfitted the Falcon. Steven Seitel is recording that adventure book right now.

Illustrative and Decorative Impulse is PL OK. I LOVE that word "superfluity". I used it in a poem I wrote 28 years ago about Modern Poetry,

"I sleep disturbed and dream I've drowned
In disconnected superfluity."

I gotta find another opportunity to use that word!
