Thank you, Jay! And congrats on your first recording!

Since it's the first one, I run a technical check, and we have to fix the bit rate. If you are using Audacity, you can set that when exporting as mp3. Open your recording in Audacity, go to export as mp3, check the format options in the Export Window, and choose "Constant" for Bit Rate Mode, and "128 kbps" for Quality. Then click Save to export and Audacity should keep these settings for all future exports. Then re-upload and post the link again. Thanks!

Jen, it didn't sound too loud to me, probably because you have a soothing voice

Then I measured it in the Checker and the volume is just perfect for Librivox!

So I measured your two previous recordings to compare; they are definitely within desired range, just 1 decibel softer than the ideal. Conclusion: Your volume is fine

Seeing all your files together, I realized in the filenames there are underscores in place of spaces in the poem's title, but the requested format is to be written as one word, ie, it would be spc211_churchsociable_jnw_128kb.mp3 instead of spc211_church_sociable_jnw_128kb.mp3
Just mentioning it for future file naming, I will fix those at cataloguing. Thanks!

Oops! I will keep that in mind when naming files for next time! Glad the volume is good. I never thought of myself as having a soothing voice, but a coworker has also told me that when I've done voice over for her

I just spent some time recording and re-recording a poem from PG only to notice afterwards that the man lived to the age of 86 and died in 1960s.

It should still be public domain in the US, which just uses date of last publication I think. If it’s on PG it should be fine.

OK by US law, but I'm in a EU member state (Poland) and we go by the author death date. Since the author of this piece died in 1960 it's not Public Domain here.
