Thank you both.

I have seen your notes on Chapter 5. Does "Houston, we have a problem" ring a bell? Well now I have a problem. My computer has been running very slowly and I've tried a lot of thing to fix it. I recently bought and connected to my computer an external hard drive that now continually backs up my files. So, believing that I could speed things up on the computer by trashing memory-consuming things, I trashed all of my mp3 files, music and photos. And now I find that the only mp3 file in the hard disk is Chapter 13 of Mrs. Dalloway. You have the files, of course, and I thought perhaps I could 'select' and drag Chapter 5 over to my recording app, Audacity, but that didn't work. I also "copied" your copy of Chapter 5 and tried to "paste" it into Audacity, but that didn't work either. Perhaps you know how I could access your copy of Chapter 5 and get it into Audacity. ? If not, I shall have to re-record and submit the Chapter anew.

Chapter 05 PL Notes:

0:26: 'Chapter 5' is missing after saying 'Mrs Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf'

30:35 There is a stumble in the phrase 'and roses hang about him'

34:47 This should be 'The dead were in Thessaly' but I heard 'the dread were in Thessaly'

37:46: The word 'themselves' is stumbled on in the phrase 'what awful fix had they gotten themselves into'

37:57 This is really an optional fix as it's not too terribly distracting but I heard a phone or perhaps a doorbell here

47:51 - 47:54 There is a repeat here

54:19 Stumble on the word 'there' in the phrase 'there she was, however'

As a general note, when you do make edits it is better to re-record a whole phrase rather than attempting to replace just once word. (not necessarily a whole paragraph or sentence, just somewhere with a small break in recording) In a couple of places, it sounds as though just one word was replaced. I haven't marked them as they aren't a major issue. However, if they did occur from one word being replaced, it will sound smoother in future to replace the whole phrase.

I'm not sure if you already do this but many people pause for a moment, then click their tongue or snap their fingers to make a spike in the recording after making an error, then re-read the phrase they made an error in. That way when you're editing the spike will show you that there is a mistake to be edited out.
Hi Shasta and Ashleigh,
I also listened to this file. I concur with the above PL notes, with the exception that the stumble "and roses hang about him" is at 30:55, not 30:35. Technical specifications are fine. Looking forward to hearing the final product! MW updated.
