Hello James,
Thanks for taking the time to PL and the feedback.
I am not sure how to fix the background noise at 0:36. Does the audacity software have some other effect which i could use to edit out unwanted noise.
The mouse clicks happened while moving between tabs. For future recordings will use the alt+tab option, although I am not very comfortable with that and the mouse seems easier.
I had used the audacity software noise reduction effect in the hope that most background noises would have been removed, i suppose it is not that easy
Is there something else i should try . Please let me know.
Thanks for your time

Shobba,
I edit out mouse clicks by selecting the spike and cutting out that sound. I only move the page between sentences so I have a silent place to cut it out.
Sometimes there is a background noise while I am recording, so I open a second Audacity session, record the sentence over again (usually a couple times so I can pick the best one) and then copy the sentence from one recording and paste it into the second.
Before I do any editing I export the file to keep as backup on my computer, just incase I make it worse instead of better. I name the backup copy _V1, _V2 etc for different verisions so you might save your intial copy as ssf076_twotimer_brown_sa_128kb_V1.mp3 on your computer. then when you have the final version ready to post to LibriVox export it without the version ssf076_twotimer_brown_sa_128kb.mp3
See this for some editing hints

Let me know when you repost the final changes and I will listen to it again.

Hello James,
Please find the edited recording.

I have been successful editing out the noise at 0:36 and at 6:21 and 6:24, not really being able to do much with the others.
Let me know if this edited version makes the cut. many thanks
Shobha

That is PL ok. It sounds like from early conversations that you have a plan to exclude mouse clicks in future recordings so you should be good.

This is PL ok,
I read this long ago when I was impressionable. Saw it when PG published it last month and read it again. It was on my list to record if no one noticed it, pretty soon.

Mike can you add a second of silence at the beginning and resubmit?
Everything else is good.

Benjami,
Just one thing, the ending silence is almost 10 seconds, can you cut it down to 5 seconds and resubmit (same file name)?
Everything else is good. Thank you
