Thanks Anita!

So... you can actually draw? I always love it when people can do that - I am totally incapable of doing it. I mean, I have great ideas and everything, but then something happens between my brain and the paper... Mostly something ugly.
Cheers,
Ava.

Ah, the fabulous thing about drawing is that it affects how you see.
I now see the path to paper differently than you do: You gaze at the face or the tree or the thing -- it comes in through your eyes and passes through your heart and then through your hand to the paper.

Have you heard, "Anything worth doing is worth doing badly" -- that is, even if you can't do it well, it's a thing worth doing: singing, writing a love letter, dancing, gardening.
Drawing is a thing worth doing badly!
Anita

Hi all, chapter 17 Portrait Drawing is uploaded.
https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/practicescienceofdrawing_17_speed_128kb.mp3
I like this chapter a lot -- imo the writing is clear and the insights and advice are excellent.
I hoped to be able to PL today, but alas! 'Tis not to be!

Tomorrow is my off day, so I'll for sure get to it then.

Thanks Anita! I don't think anyone mentioned it after your previous chapter, btw, but you also should include the running time of each section when you post the link. :) Looking forward to listening!

Hi there and welcome!

It's good that you know audacity, but please do our 1 minute test anyway. We need specific settings and want to make sure they are correct. Won't take you a minute to record and post over in Listeners Wanted. :D

I have pencilled you in for section 16. Good choice, relatively short ;-) Have fun!
Cheers,
Ava.

Ch. 8 notes:

1:40-1:45 repeat of "as in the accompanying sketch."
40:55-41:02 repeat of "The eyelashes do not count for much in drawing..."

Thanks, mightyfelix!
The corrected file is here:

https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/practicescienceofdrawing_08_speed_128kb.mp3
This is now PL ok!

Running time after corrections is 42:28. (Remember to include this information in the future for each section you submit. :) )
