Here is Section 51. Length 18:19

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/kernerreport_51_commission_128kb.mp3

Kinda difficult to make the various section and subsection breaks obvious. What was done in text with bold and bullets and italics is harder to convey when our only audio tool is the size of gaps between sections. Hopefully I got it good enough herein.

Thanks, Todd

Section 31:

It sounds like you have a chirping smoke detector:
0:03
0:25
0:58
1:31
I found they can be knocked down by using the Notch Filter set at 3153.0 and Q=1.

After this, I think you changed the battery in it, because I didn't hear any more chirping. ;)

I did hear some minor stumbles throughout the recording that could be pretty easily cut out to make the recording smoother. I didn't note times, though, because I was going to let them go. At first, one or two didn't bother me, but then there were more. :? Would you be willing to listen through and cut out the easily editable ones? I don't think you need to do any re-recording.

Section 51 PL OK.

I may not be able to transcribe the sections and subsections perfectly from the recording, but it's laid out logically, so a listener can comprehend it well enough. :)

Hi, TriciaG. I would like record Section 20, Ch 2, Patterns of Disorder: The Background of Disorder, pg 77-83 (PDF pg 15-21). Do you have a designated way to handle the table and bar chart on the last page of the section?

Thanks,
Mark

Well, I'd say read the table but not the bar chart. (The bar chart is just each of the table's lines and the number in the last column, put into bar chart form.)

As to how exactly to read the table: I don't know. It's a tough one!

Still want to do that section?

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Ha, yes I'd still like to do that section. :-) If it seems good to you, I would read the chart title, and then the footnote immediately after that to help explain the (half) numbers that follow. And I would not mention Part 1 or Part 2, as you aptly noted, Part 2 is just the same totals from Part I.

Regarding my "recorded by" name, I would just use my forum name, marwalk, as it's short and quick to say. And I use that as a user name on almost everything (that didn't already have a marwalk when I signed up for it). I also have the domain names of marwalk.com, marwalk.net, and marwalk.org. I've used my real full name, Mark Caldwell Walker, in public for decades so as to keep people from getting me confused with the hundreds (thousands?) of other Mark Walkers in the world. A web search of my full name should turn up things like the science fiction trilogy I wrote some time ago, my personal website, and other things I'm signed up with. :-)

Thanks,
Mark

OK, I think your strategy for that chart sounds good. Go for it!
