That's why I said "for now." I don't mind - it's a good problem to have!

I would be interested in reading for sections 40, 41, and 42. Those under the heading "The Administration of Justice Under Emergency Conditions".

This would be my first recording for Librivox. I would appreciate it if those sections were placed under the name Samuel Phillips. Looking forward to working with this community.

Thank you! Here's your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/13948
You can keep track of your assigned sections there. (Click on Reader section details to see each section.)

To get to this link yourself, use your name in any Magic Window in which you have an assigned section. Open your name link in a new tab/window (if you click on it directly, it opens right in the Magic Window).

Please work on the 1-minute test before digging into these sections. That way you can get any wrinkles ironed out of your setup before investing much time in longer readings like these. :)

Thanks! What's the run time, please?

(And on future files, please fix the file name to get rid of the online audio converter tab. I can fix this one, but it's better to submit files with the proper naming scheme.) ;)

FYI, I just ran it through our Checker program-ette, and it shows that the file's volume is about 11 dB too low, and it's in stereo.

I'll proof-listen the file in the meantime (either tonight or tomorrow), so don't fix that yet in case there are other fixes to make in the audio itself. But if you're submitting more files, please be aware of making it mono and check the volume, please. :)

Shoot, sorry Tricia. It must have reset to stereo and the old audio setting went I rerecorded. I'll just rerecord and resubmit the audio file in mono and in the proper Hz.

Just ignore that first submission, then.

You shouldn't have to redo the whole thing, just to change those couple settings.

Try running it through at auphonic.com with the right settings. They do a good job, and I think you get X number of hours per month free. (And if you really like it, you can tell them you're doing it for LibriVox, and they'll give you a greater limit. At least, they used to a couple years ago.)

I went ahead and listened. There's no sense repeating the same mistakes in a second recording, if you choose to go that way. :)

2:17-2:40 - please remove footnote. It's bibliographical, and unnecessary.
6:28- I can't tell by the audio where the footnote ends. Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
8:11- I can't tell by the audio where the footnote ends. Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
9:15-9:23 - Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
9:33-9:48 - Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
12:45- I can't tell by the audio where the footnote ends. Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
14:20- I can't tell by the audio where the footnote ends. Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
15:20-16:04? please remove this footnote.
16:49- I can't tell by the audio where the footnote ends. Please add an "end of footnote" notation.
19:08-19:27 please remove this footnote.

Maybe about 13:25 to end: background noise gets gradually louder. Perhaps run noise removal on this portion.

23:49 - need "end of section 40" followed by only 5 seconds of silence

Generally, I prefer footnotes to be omitted. Since you already read these, I'll leave some of them in. If you do re-record, please omit all footnotes.

If you are going to edit this file rather than redoing the whole thing, then we recommend starting at the back of the file and working the edits from back to front. That way the time stamps on unfixed edits remain the same. :)

Okay, thank you Tricia. I am going to rerecord the section without footnotes, I agree that they take away from the flow of the writing. The next upload should be free of errors, god willing.

TriciaG, I see that Section 21, Ch 2 Patterns of Disorder: The Aftermath of Disorder, is still open. I would like to record that section if no one else has been assigned to it.

Thanks,
Mark
