May I claim Section 14 (slave, Act V)?
Welcome, Tindra! Happy to have you here!

It looks like this will be your first dramatic role here. I hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to include at the beginning of your recording your voice credit: "Slave, read by Tindra" (or whatever name you prefer to use). Also pay attention to the Notes column of the MW, where I've asked you to also record some other lines in addition to the Slave. They should all be in one recording, in the order that they appear in the script.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and have fun!

2 questions:
1) "All the Spirits" means just the "All the Spirits", not "anything that is a spirit, like First Spirit", correct?
2) Would I do a voice credit for each part, or just Slave?

1) Ah, great question! Yes, it means just the line labeled "All the Spirits" on page 123-124. The lines for "First Spirit" have already been read by the person who read for "Spirit of the Lamp." (It's a confusing text! )
2) No, just for Slave, please. Another great question!

Thank you both! MW updated.

Tindra, thanks for pointing that out. It's not a big deal, though. File naming for dramatic projects is much more lax than for other projects. It's only truly important for the editor (in this case, me). As long as the editor can easily tell which file is which, you'll be fine!

Welcome, Robert! To confirm, you mean the Second Courtier, right? Dramatic projects work a little (well, maybe a lot) different than a regular book project. For one thing, we claim based on roles, not on section numbers, and the numbers tend to move around a lot. At the moment, the Second Courtier is in slot 23, but that's certain to change!

Please confirm, and I'll be able to sign you up this evening.

Thanks Doug, this is great, especially the headsman! :9:

Headsman is PL ok, thanks so much! You certainly captured both his disappointment and his thirst for blood!

I'd like a minor correction for the laborer.

0:15 Word change. Text reads (p. 149), "No doubt, they're quite surpassing things." I hear, "No doubt, they're quick surpassing things."
0:26 You also missed the "All" line at the end of the scene. (A common mistake.) P. 150, All the Workmen: "The Sultan, with his son-in-law!"
Thanks for the kind words about headsman -
Here are the changes to 'laborer'. This is a complete re-recording of the part, it was too short to simply 'edit'.
with the added line from 'all' it is now 43 seconds long.
*** Doug
Thank you, Doug! The "All" line is there now, and sounds great, but I still hear the other error.

It is now at 0:18. It should say (p. 149), "No doubt, they're quite surpassing things." But what I hear is, "No doubt, they're quick surpassing things."
My bad - I'm not QUITE sure how I missed it (I know, bad pun). Anyway, this should do it (again, check the whole line, it is a re-recording of the part). It's 36 seconds long.

Thank you, Tindra! I enjoyed listening to this! I only found one spot to correct. It will be easier to patch it in seamlessly if you re-record the whole phrase in which it appears. Replacing just one word almost never works. You may have already known that, but I mention it because it's a common part of the learning curve for some of our newer folks. :D

3:39 Word change. Text reads (p. 121), "We wing'd our viewless way to Afric's lonely waste." I hear, "We wing'd our viewless way to Afric's lovely waste."

PL ok, thank you very much! There were some very funny lines in here, and also one or two cringe-worthy ones!

Thank you, Thoria! There are just a couple of corrections needed. :)

0:35 You left out the Caravan, p. 248: "Through the noontide's glare...."
0:45 The name is not right here. I'm sure that it is because of the difficult font and poor quality of the scan, but the name here is "The holy Fatima." I hear, "The holy Fatims."
