Begin your reading with the abbreviated LibriVox disclaimer:
Leave 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning.
Night and Death by Joseph Blanco White, read for librivox.org by [your name].
[Add, if you wish, date, and/or your location.]
Then read the poem:
Mysterious Night! when our first parent knew
Thee from report divine, and heard thy name,
Did he not tremble for this lovely frame,
This glorious canopy of light and blue?
Yet ‘neath a curtain of translucent dew,
Bathed in the rays of the great setting flame,
Hesperus with the host of heaven came,
And lo! creation widened in man’s view.
Who could have thought such darkness lay concealed
Within thy beams, O sun! or who could find,
Whilst fly, and leaf, and insect stood revealed,
That to such countless orbs thou mad’st us blind!
Why do we then shun Death with anxious strife?
If light can thus deceive, wherefore not life?
At the end of your reading, leave a space and then say:
End of poem. This recording is in the public domain.
Leave 5 seconds of silence at the end.

I can't say much for my recitation, but the poem is darn good.
I've pinched a nerve in my neck. Ouch! Things have slowed down quite a bit I'm afraid. My LibriVox: https://librivox.org/sections/readers/13278

Thank you so much for taking this on, David. It'll be really nice to add a new author to the catalogue.
