Anno Domini 2071, by Pieter Harting (1812 - 1885), translated by Alexander V. W. Bikkers
Curious to see how the world was imagined to be 50 years from now? Harting, under the pseudonym Dr. Dioscorides, originally published his steampunk utopian novelette in 1865 under the title Anno 2065, but soon had to publish new editions because of all the changes happening at the time. We have in the catalogue the 1870 edition "Anno 2070" recorded in Dutch. This is the English translation of that edition, published in 1871, and naturally titled "Anno Domini 2071". It isn't free from racial partiality, but it does contain some radical ideas for its time, like the Suffragette movement, the Darwinian Evolution model, and many creatively imagined inventions! Hi, I’d love to take a shot and do the whole lot if possible. Looks an interesting read. And my set up is going pretty well these days. I’ll nail the intro soon and you can see if I’m up for it. Thanks

It would be around 2:30-3 hours finished book, depending on your reading speed ( which should be definitely slower than your riding speed  ), so I think it makes for a nice first solo.
I will sign you up for all sections, and if you change your mind we can again open it up to other readers. If you are doing the whole thing, feel free to change the splitting points, or even make it more sections, or less sections. I think I've split it so that the sections are all less than 20 minutes.

For the intro I would suggest opening with " Translator's Preface to Anno Domini 2071 [...]", instead of Part #, and closing with "End of Translator's Preface".
