dear all,

we have two abandoned chinese projects, and i think it would be awesome to bring one of them back as a group project, not only to ultimately make it available to listeners, but also to make sure that new chinese language newbies can get started on something right away. i am willing to oversee this project, but unfortunately i dont speak chinese. so i need someone to help!

Hi alex, welcome to librivox!

It would be amazing if you could help out :D the best way you can get started is by completing your one minute test. Once thats done, we could look into the chinese language texts :) thank you!

Welcome to LV! Nice to have you here!

These are not projects for language learners, I'm afraid. Carolin is looking for people who speak Chinese and/or Chinese natives to finish these projects off. I don't know either of the books, but I guess they are quite involved.
Cheers,
Ava.

Kay,

Wandering by Lu Xun is now on the "Book Suggestions" forum, so you can take a look at it. Project link above will take you right there.

Hello, Carolin,

I run into the above message when looking for abandoned projects. I hope you can help me on 2 questions. First, I'm interested in 兒女英雄傳 Er Nu Ying Xiong Zhuan and would like to know its status. Secondly, is there a forum or link that shows all abandoned projects?

Thank you.

Tina,

I will move the thread for Er Nu Ying Xiong Zhuan over to book suggestions so that you can take a look at it here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13579&start=30

There is a thread with abandoned projects - it's always at the top of the Book Suggestions board. You can see it here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22757

If you're interested in taking on Er Nu Ying Xiong Zhuan, just let me know. I can move it to the launch pad and help you get it set up. The files are safely stored out of sight - if you want to see what they sound like, here's a sample: https://librivox.org/uploads/abandoned/ernuyingxiongzhuan/ernuyingxiongzhuan_00_wenkang.mp3

Hello, MaryAnn,

I'm definitely interested. It's quite an interesting book. The sample you gave me is the preface. Do you mind giving me also section 1 (prologue) and section 2 (chapter 1) to see if I just pick it up where it was left off or start over? Many thanks.

Tina,

The links will be the same, just change the section number from 00 to 01 or 02 (or whatever section you want to listen to).

MaryAnn,

I'd like to drop you a quick note. I'd like to take Er Nu Ying Xiong Zhuan on as a solo project, redoing it from the beginning. I can see that it's a long term commitment! I'd appreciate it greatly if you could help me with the logistics in the set up.

It's a very busy time now. I'm also leaving for a trip this Saturday and won't be back until mid-January. This means that I probably won't be able to start into this until late January. If you don't get any response from me, I'm not abandoning this!

Thank you.

Tina

Thanks Tina.

When you return (or before you go, if you have time), please use the template generator to start a new project. This is the preferred way to start when you are not using any of the existing files. If you put my name in the subject line, or mention in the new thread that I will MC, I can set up the MW for you and work on this project with you.

Happy New Year and all the best in the upcoming year of the Rat!

I DID IT! Probably not very clean! Looking forward to doing this.

For your info, there's a preface and a prologue, in addition to 40 chapters. Thanks

Tina
