The standard German spelling is Enzyklopädie:

Thanks so much Michael. I guess that is what you get (re: the spelling of the word) when you are reading stuff printed 111 years ago

With the correct/current spelling of course I could have not only found it, but maybe even figured it out. Knowing what I know now, that the spelling was wrong, I could have just gone to Google Translate (like I just did) and found the correct spelling. I will remember both the link you gave above, and checking with Google Translate if I can't find a common word on line.
