If you are willing to have me read another chapter, might I have 10 on Pauperism and Crime? I found the ones I read on transportation most interesting.

Thanks,

M

PL Notes Section 26 and 27, The National Balance Sheet

Marya, I want to commend you on your phrasing. Our recent Zoom Narrator Workshop made me more cognizant of the importance of well-placed pauses between sentences and phrases that allow the listener's brain to catch up with the word pictures being painted, and not to talk too fast. You did an excellent job in these areas. I also want to apologize for taking so long to proof listen your files. I got sidetracked by another tedious project for awhile.

Now, here are a few notes:

Section 26
6:50 The cities of Great Britain owe $765,000,000, you say $65,000,000
12:14 has not only not increased, second not is missing.
12:56 amounted to $2,770,000,000, (2 billion, 770 million dollars), million is missing
24:15 enormous sums, from $400,000,000 to $500,000,000, you read as 400 thousand to 500 thousand.
24:34 each nation drawing about $400,000,000, you read as 400 thousand

Section 27
17:40 4.5 seconds of silence. Could be shortened by 2.5 seconds.

That's it. We are trying to complete this project in March, so I hope you get this message and can fix these issues in time. If not, I will try to fix them myself.

Section 23 is uploaded, Foreign Affairs

Will one of you kind readers PL my file for me?
It's a pretty interesting comparison of Britain's monarchy vs USA's republican form of government, and how/why the different systems approach war so differently.

Well, Michele, how things in the world have changed!!!

Great to hear your voice again.

Here are a few things to look at:

:00.5 Chapter 17 of You said Chapter 27

:27 Said 27 again

6:20 In addition to the force under your command in the Steamships 'Tennessee' ' Swatara' 'Alliance' and ' Galena', You say Swaters

7:14 her officers and the American Consul imprisoned You said Counsel I think that the meaning changes with that.

8:32 which his government had guaranteed ! You said has (your call)

9:34 The admiral would no more have thought of interfering than he would had he been on the shores of Ireland and doomed to stand and see a poor tenant farmer evicted, You said or

9:55 he would have protected that, and in so doing would have received the thanks of all the good people of Colombia. You said as a

15:28 No possible reward, no glory, would fall to this admiral You said admirable

21:37 also in the same President's message which I have quoted You added the word 'before' at the end.

28:10 27 again

Uploaded Section 07 Chapter 05 Occupations

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/triumphantdemocracy_07_carnegie_128kb.mp3 44:09

This section needs a proof listener, please! Are maybe you still available Wayne? or maybe Michele?
It's a great section: Explosions, car crashes, giant gorillas... you know, the standard Carnegie stuff.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I don't mean to brag, but I finished my 14-day diet in 3 hours and 12 minutes.

As Michele is the DPL, I let here do it unless she wants me to step in. :D

Section 23 repaired in all instances.

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/triumphantdemocracy_23_carnegie_128kb.mp3 28:20

But please let me explain. Section 23, Chapter 17. You take the 2 from 23 and the 7 from 17, and you get 27. See?
And when you have said admirable for admiral throughout the entire recording, it's not so bad to only miss one correction.
And then, I thought his advice about helping neighboring nations without inference in their affairs, was darn good advice to apply to meddling in your children's or grandchildren's lives, and avoid those kinds of conflict. I'm gonna try it out!

Good to see you to, Wayne. Thanks for a great PL'ing job.

I'll PL it myself. I am really enjoying Carnegie's view of the world, and haven't heard you read for awhile. It will be interesting.

Chapter 27, oops I mean 17 is now PLOK .

I see, Michele, that you went to the same math school I went to. That seems totally logical to me!
He very well might have been an Admirable Admiral!!
Your suggestion sounds like something I might try with my grandkids.
