Hi there.
Hoping I am understanding this right. I have posted my chapter to Ships that pass in the night. it is 3:34 in length.
look forward to next steps. Am I to wait for the okay to do another chapter or may I look for another to do?

have a great day!

Hi, I'll step in as this is a simple thing to correct.

Your recording should be uploaded in this way: shipsthatpassinthenight_01_harraden_128kb.

The '01' identifies your section number.

When you upload, you'll be given this to post here in the thread: https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/shipsthatpassinthenight_01_harraden_128kb.mp3

Thank you! Once you have a chance to re-upload your file with the correct file name, it'll be ready for proof-listening. (Thank you, Kevin!)

All the chapters for this project have been claimed, but there's a possibility that a few might be orphaned after a while if a volunteer is unable to record one or changes their mind. In that case, you'll be welcome to claim another.

In any case, you're always welcome to claim sections of other projects! I don't think there's a hard and fast rule as to how many sections a new volunteer can claim at once (unless a limit applicable to all volunteers is specifically stated for a given project), as long as you use your best judgment about what you'll realistically be able to complete by the deadline.

Thank you! Just a slight adjustment to make to this file name: could you take out the ._ towards the end so that the link is https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/shipsthatpassinthenight_01_harraden_128kb.mp3?

PL OK! There is a bump against the microphone, but it occurs during the intro. I think it will be all right.

I will listen today. I'm sorry for the delay. I got confused, I think. The file name correction can wait until I do my PL.

thank you Kevin and Scarbo for your advice and for telling me why you use Mono sound

here is my new-new-new-new recording for chapter 10 :)
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/ships_that_pass-in_the_night_10_harraden_128.mp3

i tried softening the interferences and removed breaths as best as i could, then i amplified the soundwave up 2 points to be heard better
let me know if i need to change anything else
We're getting close, though the noise levels are up and down quite a lot.

First, let's work on a few small things. There is a repeat at 1:07 that can be removed and a pause that is a little long at 5:01. Also, the is to be only 5 seconds of silence at the very end of the recording.

If you will make these corrections, please, and correct the file name, then I can help with the noise variations.

Good job!

Part 1, chapter 4 has been uploaded:
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/shipsthatpassinthenight_04_harraden_128kb.mp3

The length of the recording is 05:47

Sorry for the delay, school work has been mildly overwhelming.
There is a strange gurgling sound in your recording to which I will ask Scarbo to listen. To me it is too odd for inclusion in the project, but I will let Scarbo decide this.

You record well, but this strange running water sound is very confusing.
