The Obedience of a Christian Man, by William Tyndale (c.1494 - 1536),

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-obedience-of-a-christian-man-by-william-tyndale/
"The obedience of a Christian man" begins by contrasting the life of a true Christian to those holding high positions within the Romish Church. A scathing attack against the Popes, Cardinals and Bishops living in luxury, who also refrain from teaching Scripture and would rather attach themselves to "Doctors" who often contradict themselves. Tyndale compares these men to the statements set forth in Scripture which teach that all men will be persecuted for their faith in Christ.

He then shares his treatise on how Christians of all walks ought to conduct themselves, from servants to rulers, and all members of the household.

It was for works like this that William Tyndale would eventually be executed by strangulation and as many of his works that were found were to be burned. (Summary by David Ronald)

If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Marking Section 2 PL OK as well.

I do have one suggestion, however.
You might consider adding the Section Number to both intro and outro, rather than just the title. This helps the listener to keep track of where they are, and makes it all clearer. Your solo, your choice, but I thought I'd offer that suggestion for your consideration.

Thank you,

I did consider this a lot and I struggled deciding what made the most sense. In other works I would choose to say which chapters I was reading, rather than the section number because I feel that is more relevant to a listener. However, in this work there are no chapter numbers but the table of contents lists each topic with its page number. Due to the brevity of some topics, I decided to combine titles by topic categories or length of time to read and read that as the intro/outro instead of saying "section" which I felt less relevant.

I'm still on the fence about it all, but this was my way of thinking.

Anyways, Section 07 is Ready for PL.
Thanks as always!

Section 3 is PL OK.

I would come down on both sides of the fence, I guess. For example, for this one, I would have "Section 3 Obedience of Subjects" Particularly at the end, I thought it sounded like the end of the book. Including the Section Number helps the listener know what he has just heard and that there is more to come. I think this can be used even though there are no actual sections in the book, which is not an unusual situation.

I'm just about through with a long book on the life of Phillip Melancthon, as BC, and I didn't include section numbers, but wish I had. But, it is nothing major, so go with what you're comfortable with.

Thank you for your advice. Figuring out the best method of introductions has been a big challenge since I've started going solo. I always try to imagine myself as the listener and to think of what I would prefer. I think I'll leave it as it is but maybe my ideas of what makes the most sense will develop over time.

Thanks again,
