hmph, you would cut the guitar strings with those claws

and thanks for the PL :) I'm glad you liked it.

and so we meet again, DC :) I think I already predicted in the Baital Pachchisi that you might enjoy drama well. And you got a bit of practice playing jealous characters there already ;)

So here you are, and Saida is nicely portrayed. The calm, calculatingly spiteful voice is perfect for this character. Though the devil will later coax even more passion out of her. Looking forward to the next part.

Thanks, the first act is PL ok.

Sonia...so great to work with you again :9: yes I wandered into dramatic works and its a great forum! Really enjoying voicing various characters :D

What a range of emotions Saida portrays in this one, hope I've done justice

yes she does, you characterize her very well. It's difficult to decide whether to dislike or to pity her.

Only a few small things to edit:

> at about 5:43: (p. 61) please insert: "Aye."

> at 9:08: (p. 89) between "Ah" and "for thee Simon" – could you please leave more silent space here for the stage directions in beween ?

> from 9:42 to 9:44: (p. 89) between "at my heart" and "I knew not" – here it's the same speech, so you can cut the long silence in between

> at 10:21: (p. 90) between "from thy side" and "list" – again, more silent space needed for the editor to work with. Each time there are stage directions inside your speech, you need to treat it as separate quotes and insert the space

thanks

excellent edits and both acts are PL ok. Ah yes, poor Saida did not win the day in the end. Beauty is not everything. A good moral for the story.

thanks for the great performance :) hope to hear you in another play soon

Here's my lines as "A Lad of the Town", as well as "Crowd", "Chorus", and "Men" for act 1.

I notice the "Competitor's Friends" verse on pages 27-28 is exactly the same one as the "Crowd" reads on page 13. For that reason, I've included readings for both, and tried to differentiate a bit from the "Men". I figure you might still want a separate voice for one or both instances, but "if in doubt, record."

yes it was good to include all the group speeches. Todd can sort out later how many voices he will keep in the mixing and merging. Wonderfully done and as far as I can see, nothing missing. The rhythm of your speech really conveys the singing here, I like it. :)

Thank you, the first act is PL ok.

I would love to DPL if it's still open?

Thank you, but as you can see at the top of the MW, kitty is already our DPL for this project.

Another way to tell when a project needs a DPL is to look for a tilde "~" in front of the project name.

Thanks, Todd

May I read for Joan? I'm flexible, if you'd prefer something else, I can read for a different character instead.
Thanks!

Here are the stage directions for Act I
Let me know if you want anything else at the beginning.

thank you, Larry, wow, what a feat. And Pinero struck again with his extensive stage directions. The narrator is really part of the show here.

A few things to adjust still:

> at 2:25: please insert: "The story is laid in the Flemish town of Mirlemont in the beginning of the 15th century".
> at 16:55: (p. 32) repeat "coming face to face with Jacqueline" - one version can get cut

then a question for Todd before you proceed:

what about the announcements for songs ? I personally think they can get left out and treated as any other merging of voices, unless there is an added qualifier included. Would you prefer to keep them in ? If not, the following can get cut:

> at 3:33: (p. 7) "duet Simon and Joan"
> at 5:07: (p. 10) "chorus"
> at 7:02: (p. 13) "chorus"
> at 10:50: (p. 20) "trio"
> at 12:13: (p. 23) "song, the devil"
> at 14:14: (p. 26) "chorus"
> at 24:02: (p. 45) "finale, chorus"

thanks
