IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Mark,
I made the first section 0 assuming you were going to read the "advertisement." Then, Section 1 will be Chapter 1, etc. If you don't plan to read the advertisement let me know and I can make the first section 1 (for chapter 1). Also, I changed the text link to the main book page at Gutenberg. Finally, do we need to advertise for a DPL?

If you mean, do I have a DPL already, I do not. Thanks for coming on board. This should be very enjoyable.

Another major structural problem: A good many (hard to know how many in advance) of the chapters are, or may be, overlong. By which I mean over a hour long; by which I mean I will have to split the chapters. I imagine YOU are the one would create those "extra" chapters. So is this something that can be done on an ad hoc, as we go basis, or does it all need to be foreseen and set up before recording begins?

Extra sections can be added when needed. Let me know when you need them. The official section length limit is 74m.

I added a ~ before the title in the subject line of the first post. That indicates we are looking for a DPL.

Humorous fiction....Given your book description it sounds like an interesting story.

All right, we're ready to rock and roll!
Having said as much, it will be at least a week until launch date. I have two other projects still going, with several chapters to wind things up.

Now that the team is complete, I'll move this topic over to the Going Solo forum to keep the Launch Pad tidy.

Is my face red! I was apparently more than a bit of an alarmist. Yes, the first chapter is over an hour. But, after that, none of the remaining chapters is more than perhaps one third that long! So no need to worry about splitting chapters.

I find that the gargantuan first section is well over an hour, so I've broken it into two parts. That means everything else gets bumped up one. And now I need to add a Section 16, "Another Last Chapter", but can't figure out how to do it.

The Advertisement, and Part TWO of Chapter One, are ready for PL. The much longer part One will appear later.
